Sonny Rollins. Blue Note 1542, c. 1959

£600.00
sold out

1959 issue a couple years after the first, mono pressing, deep groove, sounds incredible! Literally like the sax is in the room. This is the third or fourth variant of the record though still with a Lex label on one side, West 63rd on the other. The cover is worn all around and partially split top and bottom G+/VG- though not unappealing. The beauty of this copy is in the wax, VG+ just a few light marks and scuffs and foxing and sounds great! Side one, drop the needle to complete silence. Side 2, a few tiny crackles at the beginning that soon mellow out. A few more little crackles and teeny surface noises during playback but mostly you’ll enjoy a nice silent copy. A very good price to get a very early original on the turntable in this condition and a very very good sounding record!
